Meet The Baker and The Taster
The Baker and the Taster met ten years ago. Not long after they began dating, the Baker made the Taster a cake for his birthday—and their mutual baked-goods journey began.
Her love language is giving people things she has baked. His is showing profuse and enthusiastic appreciation for food. Truly, a match made in the kitchen.
They are married now, and Baker & Taster reflects both their relationship and their initials: B&T. How cute is that? (They are an adorable couple, but they are also old so it reads as charming rather than annoying.)
The Baker has long made cookie boxes for friends, family and coworkers—for Christmas, other holidays and sometimes no defensible reason at all. She once accepted a job largely because it would give her a bigger group of people to bake for. This is true.
She admires the enormous, elaborate cookies piled with cream, icing, drizzles, toppings and even other cookies. She isn’t knocking them. She has seen some gorgeous cookies made by clearly talented bakers. But she couldn’t help wondering: how can anyone bear to eat something so beautiful? Perhaps, she thought, there might be a market for cookies made primarily for eating.
Fortunately, the Taster brings decades of cookie-tasting experience, relentless optimism, skills in web and graphic design, and the near-magical ability to turn any idea—no matter how roughly articulated—into reality.
And so, here they are: the Baker, the Taster and a small bakery devoted to making classic cookies.
